A Home Built for Recovery
Soteria Sober Living is a FARR-certified recovery residence connected to Sophros Recovery Tampa. We provide structured sober living for adults in early recovery who want to work through treatment while in a safe, supportive living environment.
At Soteria, residents live in a safe, substance-free community where accountability, peer support, and daily structure help them rebuild their lives, one day at a time.
Structure Without Feeling Like a Program
Soteria isn’t a halfway house. It’s a real home that is furnished, comfortable, and run by people who take recovery seriously. We’re connected to Sophros Recovery, which means our residents have access to a full continuum of clinical support while living in a residence that’s focused entirely on stability and accountability.
A Clear Path Forward
Every resident moves through a phase-based system designed to build independence over time. Phases aren’t about jumping through hoops. They are about creating real momentum.
Stabilization (First 48 Hours)
New residents begin with an orientation period focused on settling in, establishing routine, and connecting with the recovery community inside the residence.
Phase 1 — Build Your Foundation
Minimum 30 days. Residents establish structure: recovery meetings, curfew, house participation, and a consistent weekly schedule of work, school, or treatment.
Phase 2 — Grow Your Independence
Residents demonstrate accountability in recovery, work, and daily life while maintaining house expectations and earning increased independence.
Phase 3 — Prepare for What’s Next
Residents in Phase 3 are working toward independent living, serving as positive role models in the community and building the stability to sustain long-term recovery.
Phase advancement is reviewed weekly with staff. Progression is based on consistency, engagement, and meeting expectations, not just time.
What We Provide
Residents at Soteria receive a furnished home and the essentials covered, so they can put their energy into recovery, not logistics.
- Furnished unit with bed linens
- All utilities (electricity, water)
- Internet service
- Basic cable television
- Laundry room and supplies
- Firepit, clubhouse, and common amenities
- Regular property maintenance
Residents are responsible for personal hygiene items, food, and cleaning supplies.
You Choose Your Path
Soteria is not affiliated with any single recovery model. Residents are expected to actively engage in recovery in a way that works for them, whether that’s 12-step, SMART Recovery, Recovery Dharma, All Recovery, or another approved approach.
What’s required is engagement. Recovery support meetings during the week, a structured weekly schedule, and full participation in the Sophros/Soteria community.
Who Is Soteria For?
Soteria Sober Living is designed for adults who:
- Are engaged in outpatient treatment for substance use in the Sophros program
- Are committed to sobriety and ready to live in a substance-free environment
- Can manage daily activities independently
- Are ready to work, attend school, or maintain a structured schedule
- Want the accountability of a recovery community while rebuilding their lives
Soteria accepts residents on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in accordance with Florida law. MAT status is kept confidential and does not affect housing eligibility.
Part of Something Bigger
Soteria Sober Living is operated by Sophros Recovery, a CARF-accredited behavioral health organization providing PHP, IOP, Outpatient, and virtual treatment services in Tampa. Residents at Soteria have a direct path to clinical support through Sophros Recovery’s continuum of care.
Housing and clinical services are separate. Soteria provides the home and Sophros provides the treatment.
